About The Avenues
It’s no secret that Southwest Florida is facing an overwhelming demand for more housing at prices the community can afford. This situation became more dire in Charlotte County after Hurricane Charley destroyed so many homes in 2004.
The Bove Company was inspired by stories of Charlotte County residents and their struggle to find affordable housing and designed The Avenues to fill that need. To bring costs down and make home ownership a reality the Bove Company forged many successful partnerships.
With the support of government agencies and non-profit organizations, future homeowners of The Avenues may be eligible to receive down payment assistance from a host of sources, including:
- State Housing Initiatives Program, SHIP (up to $30,000)
- Home Ownership Program, HOP (up to $25,000)
- Florida Heroes (Reduced Interest Rate Program)
- Federal Home Loan Bank Subsidy (up to $10,000)
- Hurricane Charley Relief Assistance (up to $25,000)
- Home Ownership Assistance Program, HAP D/P
- Homeowner Assistance for Moderate Income, HAMI
The Avenues is possible because of strong partnerships between:
- Punta Gorda Housing Authority
- The Housing Corporation of Charlotte County
- City of Punta Gorda
