The Avenues Now Accepting Reservations
Condominium homes available to qualified homeowners for about $900 a month
PUNTA GORDA, Fla. (July 2, 2007) – The Avenues, a new workforce housing community in Punta Gorda, is now accepting reservations. Project partnerships and special financing programs will make the homes available to qualified customers for about $900 a month, including taxes and insurance. The development, which will be built at Airport Road between U.S. 41 and Cooper Street, will offer 176 condominium homes with two- and three-bedroom units, ranging in size from 1,259 to 1,478 square feet.
"The exciting thing about this project is that customers can own their own home for about the same amount they are paying a month for rent,” said Gabriel Bove, principal with the Bove Company, which is developing The Avenues. “We are excited to offer home ownership to the hard-working residents of Charlotte County who might not otherwise be able to afford their own home. By allowing clients to build equity instead of paying rent, we are helping them secure their futures."
The Avenues is a collaborative effort between the private and government sectors to answer the demand for local workforce housing. Partners include Bove Company, The Housing Corporation of Charlotte County, Punta Gorda Housing Authority, the City of Punta Gorda, Mercantile Bank and others. The partnerships have made the cost of building and selling the units more cost effective and made assistance programs available for customers, such as state and federal government, lower interest fixed-rate loans and subsidies.
The Avenues new sales center is now open on the property. Financing assistance and credit counseling are available.
The Avenues homes will come complete with kitchen appliances, tile floors, carpet and front porches. Residents also will enjoy the community’s scenic lake, maintenance-free landscaping and swimming pool. An onsite daycare center and playground also are planned for the community.
