Free Home Ownership Seminar Educates on Financing Options
Seminar to be held June 26 at Punta Gorda Civic Association
PUNTA GORDA, Fla. (June 22, 2007) – Leaders with The Avenues, a new workforce housing community in Punta Gorda, is hosting a free home ownership seminar. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, June 26 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Punta Gorda Civic Association, located at 2001 Shreve St.
The Avenues is a collaborative effort between the private and government sectors that is the answer to the demand for local workforce housing. Through this team effort, cost effective new housing is available with very low down payment and low monthly mortgage payment. Partners include Bove Company, The Housing Corporation of Charlotte County, Punta Gorda Housing Authority, the City of Punta Gorda, Mercantile Bank and others.
Seminar attendees will learn about special financing options and down payment assistance programs associated with The Avenues.
"We hope to show customers how they can benefit from this collaboration, and how they can afford to own a home for about the same amount they are paying in monthly rent," said Gabriel Bove, whose Bove Company is developing the project.
The Avenues will consist of 176 condominium homes with two- and three-bedroom units, ranging in size from 1,258 to 1,449 square feet. The Avenues is located just east of U.S. 41 on Airport Road within walking distance to a number of Punta Gorda’s largest employers, a grocery store and schools.
